Das NEINhorn

Deutsches Theater

From Children's Book to Theater Play

The books about Das NEINhorn have been captivating audiences since 2019 and consistently rank at the top of bestseller lists. Authored by Astrid Henn and Marc-Uwe Kling, who has achieved cult status as a writer since the release of the 'Känguru-Chroniken', this humorous and cheeky children's book tells the story of a unicorn that breaks free from its cotton candy world and decides to do only what it wants.

Colorful, but Stubborn

In the Heart Forest, a little, whimsical unicorn is born. Despite being showered with affection and fed sugary luck clovers, this creature does not behave like a typical unicorn. It simply keeps saying no, prompting its family to call it the NEINhorn. One day, the NEINhorn escapes its cotton candy world and encounters the WASBär, a raccoon that refuses to listen, the NaHUND, who is indifferent to everything, and the KönigsDOCHter, a princess who always has a rebuttal. Together, these four make quite the team, proving that even being stubborn is much more fun when shared!

Theater with Lots of Music

The Junge Theater Bonn (JTB) presents the story of the NEINhorn as a musical theater performance. The script is by Marc Schubring, a composer known for many successful musicals, and the production is directed by Bernard Niemeyer, with a stage designed by Katha Kastner.
