Cara
CARA is a multinational Celtic Folk band that has won two Irish Music Awards. The musicians are renowned for their innovative arrangements, original compositions, and exceptional songwriting, all delivered with a charismatic stage presence. Their unique sound places the voices of lead singers Gudrun Walther and Kim Edgar at the forefront. The musical journey encompasses dreamy ballads, archaic Gaelic mouth music, and contemporary songs that reflect current social and political issues, with the two lead singers complementing each other seamlessly.
Their repertoire alternates between captivating songs and lively instrumental pieces, highlighting the virtuosic interplay of fiddle and Uilleann pipes. Simon Pfisterer, who studied this extraordinary instrument at the University in Limerick, plays the Irish bagpipes, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage in 2017. Gudrun Walther's elegant and expressive fiddle playing is highly praised by critics both nationally and internationally.
What sets CARA apart is the interaction between guitar and piano, along with the band's distinctive, rhythmically rich, and harmonically complex arrangements, crafted by guitarist, producer, and musical mastermind Jürgen Treyz. From the opening act to the encore, CARA's concerts shine with striking moments, including compelling solos from each band member, continually surprising the audience with fresh sounds. The evening is rounded off by their charming and humorous presentation, guaranteeing a night of exceptional musical enjoyment and entertainment.
