Continued Proceedings in Block Case: Defense Statements Expected
The ongoing legal proceedings regarding the alleged abduction of the Block children continue as the defense attorneys are set to present their statements. Christina Block and her former spouse, Stephan Hensel, have exchanged serious accusations in court. The case revolves around the kidnapping of their two younger children, and the defense's input is anticipated on the statements made by both parents.
In the recent sessions, Christina Block, aged 52, reiterated her position, asserting that she neither commissioned nor intended the alleged abduction of her children from their father, who resides in Denmark. In contrast, Stephan Hensel, aged 51, recounted the harrowing events of New Year's Eve 2023/24, detailing how their ten-year-old son and thirteen-year-old daughter were taken against his will, during which he was physically assaulted.
Hensel claimed that his family had previously felt threatened and pursued by Christina Block. As the trial proceeds, four witnesses are scheduled to testify, including three individuals from Denmark. Additionally, a representative from a car rental agency is also expected to provide evidence, as announced by the Hamburg District Court.
The abduction operation was reportedly conducted by an Israeli security firm. One of the co-defendants, who remains in custody, has admitted his involvement in the case and has issued a second apology to both the children and their father, who is participating in the trial as a plaintiff.
Remarkably, just four days after the kidnapping incident, the children were ordered by the court to return to their father in Denmark. They are likely to be called as witnesses in the proceedings, although it is yet to be determined if this will occur in a closed setting.
