24-Year-Old Arrested for Theft at Halle (Saale) Train Station
On July 22, 2025, a 24-year-old man was apprehended at the Halle (Saale) main train station following a theft incident reported at a local drugstore. At approximately 2:10 PM, the Federal Police were alerted about the situation and promptly arrived at the scene, where they encountered both the alleged perpetrator and witnesses to the event.
Upon verifying the individual's identity, authorities discovered that the Bamberg Public Prosecutor's Office had issued an arrest warrant for him. This man, a Syrian national, had previously faced legal issues. In January 2023, he was convicted for misuse of identification documents and fined 400 euros. However, he failed to pay the full amount, leading to the issuance of a warrant in February 2025.
Following the confirmation of the arrest warrant, law enforcement officials informed the man of the warrant and proceeded with his detention. As he was unable to settle the remaining debt of 310 euros, he was subsequently taken to a correctional facility to serve the remainder of his sentence, which amounted to 31 days.
The police have reported the execution of the arrest warrant to the relevant authorities, ensuring that all necessary procedures were followed in this case.
