Deutsche Bahn Delays

Passengers of the railway, especially in Bavaria, need to be especially patient recently. Almost every day there is more bad news about delays or other incidents on the Deutsche Bahn network.

Construction mistakes on the new three year old line, Ingolstadt-Nuremberg, meant in the last few days that the ICE could go only reach speeds of 160km/h instead of the normal speed of up to 300km/h. Since last week, due to weather-related circumstances, the electric rail train used on the routes Murnau-Oberammergau, Tutzing-Kochel, Holzkirchen, Rosenheim and Munich-Landshut has been out of commission.

New trains for the Passau route and the Freilassing-Berchtesgaden line were not certified to be used in extreme weather, consequently trains from Freilassing and Berchtesgaden are currently using an engine from Stuttgart Museum.
