The Berlin Police have launched a public appeal for information regarding two suspects involved in a violent robbery that occurred nearly a year ago in Neukölln. The incident, which left a 31-year-old man injured, took place on February 12, 2024, in the early hours of the morning.
According to police reports, the victim was attacked around 6 AM on Selchower Straße when the assailants forcefully brought him to the ground. Despite his attempts to escape to the intersection of Selchower Straße and Weisestraße, the suspects caught up with him, bringing him down once more. One of the attackers pinned the victim to the ground while the other restrained his legs.
The robbers made off with the victim's wallet, which was taken from his jacket pocket, and fled towards Columbiadamm. Following the robbery, they proceeded to make unauthorized transactions using the stolen cards.
The victim sustained abrasions to his head but opted not to seek medical treatment following the assault.
In an effort to identify the suspects, the Berlin Police have released photographs and are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information. The investigation is being handled by a specialized unit within the police department.
Authorities are also conducting searches for other recent crimes in the area, including a series of attempted robberies and missing person cases.
