Brannenburg . In Mangfall mountains traces have been discovered of a wild wolf. "We are prepared for this situation", assured the Bavarian Environment Ministry wildlife officer Manfred Wölfl.

According to information from the Münchner Merkur, the animal was clearly identified by bite marks on a dead deer. Manfred Wölfl said that he just wants to clarify facts and minimize any possible conflicts in advance.  After Wölfl was informed about the discovery at Brannenburg, three more dead wild animals were found - in the first case the dead animal was discovered on the Tyrolean side of the Alps, and in two other cases on the Bavarian side of the area around Mangfall Mountains. The last traces of the wolf had been discovered at the end of January. "We do not know where the wolf is now" said Wölfl.
