In addition, serious problems occurred on the entire network of the Munich S-Bahn. Commuters had to wait for their trains for over 30 minutes and often considerably longer, with the S3 line to Holzkirchen particularly hard hit, causing extended delays for thousands of commuters based in companies such as Infineon. There were also delays to other train networks in Southern Germany. According to a spokesman for the railways in Bavaria, it is in the morning when the lines are especially affected by drifting snow.

It is not yet clear when the situation will return to normal. Last night up to 15 centimeters of fresh snow had fallen and in many areas it is still snowing.
