Restaurant Review- Bar Comercial
Bar Comercial is a place where modern city atmosphere meets classical Italian charm.
The bar is located in the Theatinerstraße 16, between the Marienplatz and the Odeonsplat as part of the Fünf Höfe, a shopping arcade with five different courts.
The modern architecture surrounding the bar features an impressive piece of art by Olafur Eliasson, a steel ball hanging from the ceiling, which gives the outside dining area of Comercial its individual character.
The bar has a broad cocktail menu and a well selected wine card. The cocktail menu offers classics such Caipirinhas and Long Island Ice Teas but stands out with its extraordinary drinks named Prince of Wales or James Bond, which are champagne based cocktails. I decided on a vintage Mojito which was able to impress me with its fresh mint and quality rum.
The food carte is based on a choice of Italian pizza but additionally offers a special menu which changes weekly. I decided on a pizza Quattro Fromaggi with four types of cheese. The pizza itself was delicious due to its thin crust and a hint of rocket sprinkled on top, giving the meal a unique touch.
The audience is mixed especially age wise, varying from business men in suits to fashionable young women. Bar Comercial is a high end orientated bar which is mirrored in its pricing, on average 9 Euros for a cocktail. Nonetheless, the price is worth experiancing a modern bar with a marvellous atmosphere.
