The "Friends with Benefit" Concert is a unique experience for students and young people to realize their power to make a difference through their talents. In an effort to combine the musical skill of undiscovered bands and solo artists throughout Munich, as well as donating money to a great cause, the Benefit is a fun and new way to influence the youth culture of today and encourage and motivate others to follow on the same path of helping the less fortunate. SOS Kinderdorf is an extremely deserving charity, supporting children and their rights throughout the world.

The seven acts are from various german and international schools and are working hard to break into the music industry. The Shining Faces (Philip Teal, Anton Erdle, Ribka Neway, and James Thornewill) are a self proclaimed psychedelic indie dream rock band who are dedicated and talented. Michael Tanner & Band are an Indie Folk band whose music pulls at emotional strings. Kat Izabit White is an american acoustic Indie folk artist who has performed in many concerts in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri and is taking the stage for the first time in Munich. The Fakemakers (Nicholas Gnan, Eduardo Arroyo, and Florian Balmer) play Acoustic Indie music with style and passion. Yosefin Buohler is a combination of many styles, with a very soulful voice, heard on Super Talent in 2008. Kenny is a talented Munich International School Talent Show winner, who won the competition through his intricate beat boxing technique. Finishing up the night are the rappers, SIKA & Tatzumaru, who can not only spew out words like no other, but articulate their thoughts in their own creations and mixes. To top off, Tanzbar Music Label donated DJ Team Binary & Durden from midnight onwards.

The generosity of everyone involved is astounding, from the venue, the bands, the music label, and volunteers to those attending the event and those promoting it. A lesson can be learned, people are waiting to give, just ask. With dedication and perseverance, the benefit has the potential to bring in a large amount of funds for SOS Kinderdorf, and is sure to create some buzz about the talented performers.

The Glockenbachwerkstatt is located in the heart of Munich near the Viktualienmarkt (Blumenstr. 7). The March 2nd event starts at 20:30 and goes until 3:00. Tickets are 10 euro at the door, but come early to secure a ticket!
